Finding the Ideal Location for the FRITZ!Repeater
Overview
The position for the FRITZ!Repeater that optimizes expansion of the
Wi-Fi network can be found by applying the following rules. In combi-
nation with a FRITZ!Box you can also use the FRITZ!AppWLAN to de-
termine the ideal location.
Rules
• Space should be left between the FRITZ!Repeater and walls, radi-
ators, large devices with metal housings, other wireless devices,
and transmitting devices like baby monitors, microwaves and DECT
base stations.
• The router’s Wi-Fi should be available in high quality. The LED
on the FRITZ!Repeater should light up green.
• The distance between the FRITZ!Repeater and the router should be
about the same as the distance to the devices for which the Wi-Fi
network is being expanded.
• The FRITZ!Repeater should not be located too close to the router.
With no obstructions between the devices, the distance should not
be much less than 3meters.
