Connecting USB devices
USBports
On the USB ports, you can connect external devices that also have a USB port
(e.g. a DVD drive, a printer, a scanner or a modem).
USB devices a re hot-pluggable. T his means you c an connect and disconne ct
devices while your operating system is runn ing.
USB 1.x has a maximum data transfer rate of 12 Mbit/s.
USB 2.0 has a data transfer r ate of up to 480 Mbit/s.
USB 3.0 has a data t rans
fer r ate of up to 5 Gbit/s .

Device drivers
USB devices w ill be automatically recognised and installed b y y our operating system.
How t o remove USB devices correctly
Always correctly remove the device according to the rules described below,
to ensure that none of your data is lost.
► Left click on the icon to safely remove hardware, located in the taskbar.
► Select the device which you want to shut down and remove.
► Press the Enter key.
Wait for the dialogue box w h ich tells you that it is now safe to remove the device.
