LTFS Option
This chapter provides notes on the LTFS option that is used with the LT20 S2/LT40 S2/LT60 S2.
5.1 Notes on Operation
■ Cleaning tape drives
The LTFS option has a command used to clean the tape drives. When cleaning tape drives, use the LT20 S2/
LT40 S2/LT60 S2's automatic cleaning function (Auto Cleaning) or the LTFS option's cleaning command.

5.2 Notes on the LTFS Option Installation
5.2.1 LTFS Server OS
To stably operate the LT20 S2/LT40 S2/LT60 S2, applying the latest security patches for the LTFS server OS is
recommended.
When LTFS is running, performing a manual cleaning of the LT20 S2/LT40 S2/LT60 S2 may cause a device
usage conflict or an inconsistent status for the tape cartridges or tape drives. This conflict or inconsistency
may cause an error. Do not perform a manual cleaning while LTFS is running.
