      First, push the power button. If that doesn't work, ensure the AC cable and adapter are correctly connected. Try disconnecting and reconnecting them. If the scanner still doesn't power on after Windows starts up, push the power button again.

      Make sure the document is correctly loaded on the ADF paper chute and that the ADF is completely closed. Verify the cable is correctly connected, especially if using a USB hub (check the hub's power supply). Also, ensure the SCSI ID is correctly set using the SCSI ID switch on the rear of the scanner. Turn off and on the power button.

      Reduce the number of sheets in the document stack to 10 mm thickness or less. Fan the documents before scanning, and correctly align the document stack before loading them on the ADF paper chute.
