Troubleshooting an d tips
Using the battery switch-off button
If the device stops responding and no longer reacts to the On/Off switch, use the
battery switch-off button to shut dow n the device.
Disconnect the device from the mains adapter.
Push a pen or a piece of wire (such as a paper clip) rmly into the opening of
the battery switch-off button to shut down the system.
Connect the mains adapter to the device again.
Switch the device on again.
Restoring the hard disk contents under Windows

You can use the "Windows Recovery CD" (optionally available) and the "Drivers & Utilities
CD/DVD" to reinstall the operating system.
The instructions are provided on the case of the Recovery CD.
During th e reinstall process your personal les and any installed p rograms
will be deleted. We advise you to backup your les to an external hard
drive, or CD / DVD disk before yo u start.
Switch the notebook on.
The following display briey a ppears on the screen during start-up:
<ESC>Diagnostic screen <F12>Boot Menu <F2>BIOS Setup

Insert the "Windows Recovery CD" into the optical drive.
Select CD-ROM and p ress the Enter key.
Follow the instructions on the screen.
After the installation you must install all the drivers again. Some installed hardware
components w ill not be correctly supported until this h as been done.
Insert the "Drivers & Utilities" CD/DVD into the optical drive. The CD starts automatically.
Click on the Desk Update b u tton.
Select A uto ma tic driver installation (Express) and click on Start installation.
Follow the instructions on the screen.
Restart your notebook when the driver installation is completed.
