Webcam
Depending on the software used, you can use your Webcam to take p ictures,
record video clips or take part in web ch ats.
The WebCam has its own status indicato r. The indicato r lights up when the WebCam is sw itched o n.
The WebCam is switched on and off using the key combination for the WebCam,
see "
Key combinat ions", Page 23.
• The picture quality depends on the lighting conditions and the software being used.
• You can only operate the webcam with a particular application (e.g. an Internet telephony
program or a video conferencing program w hich supports a webcam).
• When using the webcam the notebook support m ust not wobb le.
• The webcam a utomatica lly adjusts itself to the current lig ht level. For this reason
the LCD screen may flicker while the light level is adjusted.
Further information on using the webca m a nd on the additional settings
which are possible for your webcam can be found in the help function
of the program which uses the webcam.

When not plugged into a ma ins socket, the noteb ook runs on its built-in battery. You
can increase the life of the battery by caring for the battery properly. The average
battery life is around 500 charge/discharge cycles.
You c an extend the battery life by taking advantage of the available energy saving functions.
