Ê Install the holder for the SmartCard reader and the compact flash board (see "Installing the
compact flash board").
Ê Close the casing (see "Closing the casing“).
Installation opening for 2
nd
serial port
An installation opening for the 2
nd
serial port is provided on the back of the casing. As a result, no
board slot is occupied when a second serial port is installed.
Ê Insert a screwdriver into the opening and break out the pre-stamped installation opening by
moving it backwards and forwards.

Installing and removing drives
There is space for two accessible drives in the casing of your PC: a 5 1/4" half height drive
(Slimline) and a 3 1/2" floppy disk drive.
IDE drives
By default one IDE drive is supported. Ideally hard disks are connected to IDE port 1, and
accessible IDE drives, for example CD-ROMs, to IDE port 2 (see also the system board Technical
Manual).
