6.8.8 How to setup a DMZ
A network DMZ (demilitarized zone) helps to provide a “buffer” of security between
your network (LAN, etc) and the internet.
Note: To setup a DMZ, [Group Type] must be set to other than [Bridge] or [PPoE].
You can setup a DMZ for your network with the following procedure.
1. Referring to section 6.1, login as an Administrator.
2. Click [Admin], [Network Settings], [WAN], then [Groups].
3. Click the [Settings] button for the group whose IP filter you want to setup.
4. Click [DMZ].
5. Referring to the following table, set up DMZ according to your system.
6. Click the [Apply] button.
The message "Applied." appears.
7. Click the [Close] button to close the message.
Item Description
Enable/Disable Put a [9] in the box to use DMZ.
The default setting is "unchecked".
DMZ address Input the DMZ address (IPv4 address).
Apply button Apply the settings.
Cancel button Restore the previous settings
