11.3 MULTIPLE UNIT OPERATION
There are several options for installation of multiple units in close proximity. The following list of
examples will be helpful in determining an appropriate method of connection.
For proper operation, each walk-through metal detector must be set to receive no interference from
adjoining units. This can be determined by observing the bar graph indication of one unit while
switching the remaining unit(s) from Standby to Operate. If the noise flicker increases on the BAR
GRAPH of a unit, then it may be necessary to select another set-up.
11.3.1 CASE I
•Two(2)unitswhichinterferewitheachother;
•Bothunitspluggedintosamepowerline(samecircuitbreaker).
•SetbothunitstoMASTER;
•SetoneunittoCHANNELA;
•SetoneunittoCHANNELB.
11.3.2 CASE II:
•Three(3)ormoreunitsthatinterferewitheachother;
•Allunitspluggedintosamepower(samecircuitbreaker).
•SetallunitstoMaster
•SetfirstunittoCHANNELA
•SetsecondunittoCHANNELB
•SetthirdunittoCHANNELD;
Repeat pattern of CHANNELS A,C, and D for any additional units.
11.3.3 CASE III:
•Three(3)ormoreunitsthatinterferewitheachother;
•Unitsnotpluggedintothesamepowerlineorunitswithbatteryback-upoptionwhichmaybe
required to operate in the absence of AC power.
•Withtheexceptionofthefirstandlastunits,theSH-3jumpermustberemoved.Thisjumperis
located on the Controller Board Assembly. Refer to the drawing for exact location.
