10-2 Recommended Alignment Sequence
Ensure gantry tilt = 0°
(use gantry tilt tool)
Ensure gantry azimuth = 0°
(when lights selected at table)
(use Azimuth pins + C pulse)
Check Table/Gantry Alignment
(Section 11)
Align Internal Axials
left and right
Align Sagittal
Align Coronals
left and right.
Align External Axials
left and right
This procedure has been written for a full or a partial alignment. To do an individual unit alignment, first do the
preliminary procedure, then do the relevant procedure concerning the unit to be aligned. Finally, return the
system to normal operating conditions.
10-3 - Special Tools and Preliminary Procedures
Proper alignment light adjustment requires the use of the 46-241730P1 Laser Light Alignment Tool shown in
Ill. 6-10-2. Before alignment light adjustment can commence, the alignment light tool must be perpendicularly
aligned and centered in the scan plane as described in section 10-4. First perform the preliminary procedure
shown below.
WARNING: DO NOT PUT ANY PART OF THE BODY INTO THE GANTRY WITHOUT THE SCAN DRIVE
SWITCH IN THE OFF POSITION AND THE GANTRY PROPERLY SECURED WITH THE
LOCKING PIN. FAILURE TO HEED THIS WARNING COULD RESULT IN PERSONAL INJURY
OR DEATH.
1. Using MG Test, drive the collimator to the closed position (0.2mm).
2. Switch OFF Scan Drive switch.
3. Open gantry front cover.
4. Pin the gantry with the locking pin.
5. Remove cover from the desired laser units.
6. If the sagittal is to be adjusted, unbolt the display panel and place it temporarily to the side.
7. Unpin the gantry.
8. Securely close the gantry front cover.
9. Ensure gantry tilt is 0°, check with the gantry tilt tool.
10. Turn on the Scan Drive Switch.
11. Initialize the TGGC system.
12. Press the LIGHTS pushbutton on the table.
13. Ensure gantry rotates to 0° Azimuth.
14. Switch the Scan Drive switch to OFF.
15. Switch the laser alignment test switch ON (TS3).
