d. Allow program to run at least five (5) passes. Each pass should take approximately 10 minutes
on single drive system, 20 minutes on dual drive system, and at the end of each, the word PASS
will be printed at the terminal. No errors are acceptable.
e. Halt the computer (holding the UNLOCK switch and press RESET) and STOP the disk drive.

IMPORTANT: BE SURE TO TURN OFF THE ODD (optical disk) and THE MDD (OD magnetic disk)
prior to executing and DG diagnostics or exercizers. These programs will write data to
and destroy the content of the optical disk media or the MDD.
1. Ensure Argus Disk Drive front panel power switch is in the OFF - 0 position.
2. Locate cabinet circuit breaker on lower rear panel of cabinet. Turn breaker ON.
3. Remove front cover panel of Disk Drive and set the diagnostics and unit switches for normal operation
as indicated below. This should be done on both drives of a Dual Drive system.

4. Turn the Disk Drive power switch ON. The drive will automatically perform the power-up test sequence
which takes approximately 1 minute. When successfully completed the STATUS digital display will be
blank and the READY LED will be ON. Refer to DG Documentation Maintenance Service Guide Models
6236/6237 Disk Drive Subsystem Section 2.2.1 Power-Up Procedures for details of sequence.
