SECTION 1 HOW TO USE 9800 DIAGNOSTICS
1-1 R-Level
The CTDS diagnostics are loaded from tape to the system disc pack Directory CTDS as described in Chapter 4 of
Direction 18000. These diagnostics are operated under the RDOS operating system and are intended for GE
Medical Systems Personnel Use Only. These diagnostics must be deleted from the system pack after use.
At R level, enter “HELP” return to get the first menu.

The program “Z” PPI Status is a useful program to determine the status of all system PPI boards as well as the
Host-to-PPI Communication. By entering “HELP ZR” from R level the following screen is presented.

PPI STATUS REPORT
THIS IS A ROUTINE THAT RUNS UNDER RDOS THAT ALLOW THE OPERATOR TO
EXAMINE THE STATUS OF THE ppi AS CURRENTLY HELD BY THE OPERATING SYSTEM.
IT ALSO ALLOWS THE OPERATOR TO EXECUTE BASIC COMMAND TO THE DEVICES.

A brief description of the program is given and striking any key returns the program to R level. For a detailed
