SLi Combi Tools, Cutters and Spreaders:
Check the blades (for damage)
Inspect the spreader tips (for damage)
Check the membrane keypad and the rocker switch (function)
Check the handle (fastened securely)
Check the cover plate (damage)
Check the latching of the battery cover and the battery retaining plate
Perform the self-test fuction
SLi Rescue Ram:
Check the piston rod (damage)
Check the membrane keypad and the rocker switch (function)
Check the pressure elements (damage)
Perform the self-test function
Check the latching of the battery cover and the battery retaining plate
8.3 Shut-Down (End of Work)
Cutters:
After work is over, the blade tips must be placed one above the other to prevent injury. Never
close the blades of the cutter completely so that the hydraulic load on the cutter is relieved
for storage.
Rescue Rams:
After work is over, the ram's piston rod must be completely retracted, so as to relieve the
hydraulic load on the tool by extending it briey (1/25" - 13/64").
Combi Tools and Spreaders:
Once work has nished, the spreader arms must remain slightly open in order to relieve the
tool's hydraulic pressure.
