ensure that the two centring pins (8) are cor-
rectly inserted;
always replace the compression ring (9) from
the sump side [

ensure that the governor lever (10) is facing
upwards;
ensure that the oil plug (4) is properly screwed
in and fill the cover.
9 After installing the engine on the machine:
check that the throttle cable is correctly
adjusted [

check the efficiency of the engine brake

10 Following reassembly it is advisable to check
the engine’s peak rpm [

B) Dismantling and checking the camshaft
and counterweight governor
21 Remove the engine from the machine and open
the cover [
6.10.A].
22 Remove the camshaft (21).
23 Check the regular movement of the pressure
reducer (22) and the efficiency of the spring (23);
the whole group must always be replaced in the
case of breakage or irregular operation of the
pressure reducer.
24 Check that the counterweight governor (24) has
no broken lubrication blades (25).
25 Turn the governor’s gears quickly and check
that the counterweights (26) expand correctly,
causing the pin (27) to be moved axially.
26 In the case of breakage or irregular operation of
the counterweights the whole group, fixed by a
plate (28) and a screw (29) must be replaced.
