Stop Engine
Before maintenance, adjustments or service (except
where specifically recommended) shut off engine.
Cool Engine
ALWAYS allow the engine to cool before maintenance,
adjustments, or service.
Battery
Explosive Gases from battery can cause serious injury or
death.
No open flames, No sparks, and No smoking materials
near battery.
Wear safety glasses and protective gear when handling
batteries to protect eyes, skin or clothing.
Brakes
Check brake operation frequently. Adjust and service as
required.
Cleaning
Keep unit free of grass, leaves, or other debris. Clean up
oil or fuel spills. Check hot surfaces frequently for debris
which could burn.
Transport
Use extra care when loading or unloading unit onto trailer
or truck.
Secure unit chassis to transport vehicle. NEVER secure
from rods or linkages that could be damaged.
Storage
For unit storage or extended storage:
1. NEVER store with fuel in fuel tank, inside a building
where any ignition sources are present
2. Allow engine to cool completely
3. Lower cutting deck unless a positive mechanical lock
is used
Safety Interlock System
DO NOT operate unit if operator presence control is
damaged or disabled.
Safety Covers
Keep all safety covers:
In place
In proper working condition
ATTACHMENTS AND ACCESSORIES
Use only attachments or accessories designed for your
unit.
Turn off power to attachment when transporting, crossing
drives, etc.
DO NOT transport with attachment in raised position.
Lower cutting deck when unit is parked or stored unless a
positive mechanical lock is used.
Grass Catcher
Check grass catcher components frequently. If worn or
damaged, replace with manufacturer’s recommended
parts.
Use extra care with grass catchers or other attachments.
These can change the stability of the unit. Use only
approved hitch points.
Load Capacity
Know the weight of loads. Limit loads to those you can
safely control.
