Troubleshooting
PROBABLE CAUSE
PROBLEM SUGGESTED REMEDY
Bender will not operate Power switch is OFF. Turn power ON.
Battery voltage is low. Charge the batteries.
Battery connections are loose. Tighten the battery connections.
Bender operates slowly. Battery voltage is low. Charge the batteries.
Motor “hums”; shoe does Battery voltage is low. Charge the batteries.
not rotate.
Batteries will not charge. Battery connections are loose. Tighten the battery connections.
Battery connectors are corroded or dirty.
Clean battery connectors.
Charger’s in-line fuses are blown. Replace charger’s fuses.
Charger is faulty. Test charger’s output with voltmeter.
Replace charger if output is less
than 12 volts.
Batteries are faulty. Replace batteries.
Low battery life. Batteries are exhausted. Replace batteries.
Bender overbends conduit Too much squeeze on Decrease squeeze. See instructions
slightly. 1-1/2" – 2" EMT or IMC. under Adjusting the squeeze.
Conduit has unusual characteristics. Bend to a smaller angle to
compensate.
Bender underbends conduit Too little squeeze on Increase squeeze. See instructions
slightly. 1-1/2" – 2" EMT or IMC. under Adjusting the squeeze.
Conduit has unusual characteristics.
Bend to a larger angle to compensate.
