Problem Cause Solution
The display comes on but the
pump motor will not operate.
Low operation power Make sure that the line voltage is within
specification.
Incorrect voltage selector
setting
Set the line voltage selector switch to the
correct voltage.
Disconnected motor cable Connect the motor cable.
Defective motor Call Technical Service.
High readings Loose fluoride electrode Look for O-ring and tighten the electrode.
Loose reference electrode Look for O-ring and tighten the electrode.
Electrode not conditioned prior
to use
Let overnight operation occur and
recalibrate.
Low or missing inner fill
solution in fluoride electrode
Look at inner solution. Refill if needed.
Low readings Pressure plate screws not
tightened
Tightened pressure plate screws.
No sample flow Adjust sample flow. Look at sample filter,
replace if blocked.
Reagent and sample lines
incorrectly plumbed
Refer to plumbing diagram and correctly
plumb the reagent and sample lines.
Blocked drain line Look at drain line flow. If no flow is seen,
remove drain line and check for blockages.
Erratic readings Incorrect electrode placement Make sure that the fluoride electrode is
installed in the top position. Make sure that
the reference electrode is installed in the
bottom position.
Air trapped in the system If analyzer is new, parts might not be
sufficiently or evenly wetted. Flush the
system with surfactant (2697453) in place of
the sample.
Excess air in inner fill solution
chamber of electrode
measuring half cell
Refill measuring electrode inner fill solution.
8.1 System alarms
System alarm conditions stop the instrument and show an alarm message. Fix the alarm condition to
return to normal operation.
Push the EXIT key to stop and start the instrument. If the alarm condition is still present, refer to
Table 9.

EE ERROR The instrument cannot write to the EE ROM Stop and start the equipment.
Call Technical Service.
A/D ERROR
(Alarm LED is lit)
Faulty analog to digital converter Restart the equipment.
