SECTION 2 : INSTALLER
Installation
HITCH ADAPTERS
The Hitch Adapter plugs into the
vehicle’s trailer hitch and serves
as the interface between the
lift and vehicle. Hitch adapters
are designed for the needs of
different vehicles. Some are
shown in. [Figure 19-1]
Selecting a Hitch Adapter
To determine the Hitch Adapter
that will ensure proper lift
operation, first determine the
Hitch Class. Measure the Bumper
Distance and the Hitch Height.
[Figure 19-2]
N
OTE: Some shallow hitches, ex. Spare tire blocked hitches,
may require a short Hitch Adapter. [Figure 19-4]

WARNING!
Harmar lifts
require Harmar-
approved hitch
adapters. Hitch Expanders
and Extenders are strictly
prohibited – using them or any
other aftermarket accessory
may result in damage to the
vehicle, lift, and/or personal
injury to the user.
Hitch Class is usually printed on the
trailer hitch. Y
ou can also determine
it by measuring the inside of the
receiver on the trailer hitch as
shown. [Figure 19-3]
