      If your scooter or chair tips forward or backward while being lifted by a Harmar Mobility Lifting System, it's likely that the button was held too long, unwinding the lifting strap. To fix this, press whichever button extends the strap and continue to hold it until the strap returns to the proper direction.

      If your Harmar Mobility Lifting Tower operates in reverse, adjust the position of the chair or scooter on the platform. In some cases, a scooter plate can be added to the platform to allow more offset, because the platform is leaning to one side more than the other.

      The most common reason for a Harmar Mobility Lifting System to operate poorly is a bad electrical connection. Check and clean all connections that may be loose or dirty, as the lifting motor requires quality electrical connections to operate at full capacity. Any break in the wiring will slow down the motor and cause it to deteriorate prematurely. Also, inspect the full length of the wire harness for tears in the insulation, especially the vehicle power harness running through or under the vehicle. Road debris and rubbing against the vehicle’s frame can cause a short. Verify the circuit breaker, located about 6” from the connections to the vehicle’s battery, is functioning correctly.
