4 Field of application
When measuring mechanical deformations electrically with strain gauge trans
ducers, it is interesting to know the precise correlation between the mechanical
quantity acting on the transducer and the corresponding electrical display at
the end of the measurement chain.
To achieve this, use the K148 calibration unit instead of a strain gauge trans
ducer. It delivers defined, electrical signals and simulates the effect of the me
chanical quantities acting on a strain gauge transducer.
The K148 calibration unit is designed for connecting single-channel measuring
amplifiers as well as multi-channel amplifiers with up to eight channels in a full-
bridge circuit. Six-wire circuitry is used for connection.

K148
Single-channel amplifiers are connected directly, the channels of multi-channel
amplifiers are switched through serially, internally.
The calibration unit has a strain gauge equivalent resistance of 350 ohms.
It can be operated via a USB interface or via the serial interface with a com
puter or controlled manually.
The K148 works in a frequency range of 225 Hz to 600 Hz with an accuracy
class of 0.0025; with DC and a CF u600....5000 Hz, the accuracy class is
0.025%. In DC it makes sense to zero the measurement values to eliminate
