ANDROID™ OPERATING SYSTEM
You can go to the Android™ operating system by pressing the “HOME” button on the keypad, pressing the “IPTV” button on an
IR remote or pressing the “SOURCE” button on a pillow speaker until “IPTV” is highlighted. You will be shown the Android™
home screen. If the set has just been turned on it may take up to 30 seconds for the Android™ operating system to load. If you
are using the arrow buttons for navigation press the “ENTER” button to select the highlighted app.
If you have a mouse use the right button to go back. It is helpful but not necessary to have USB keyboard plugged into one of
the USB ports. To bring up a virtual keyboard left click in any area wanting text input.
The default password for the Settings app is “12363” When asked for a password enter the password then press the ”ENTER”
button or click on the OK button.
To select an App or button use the left/right/up/down arrow buttons to select an App and press the “ENTER” button. You can
also use a keyboard with a touch pad or mouse plugged in to the side or rear USB port. You can not use the update/clone port.
The right mouse button is the “Back” button. You can also use the “BACK” button on an HCI IR remote. To bring up a virtual
keyboard on the screen right click in the window you wish to type in.
When using the USB ports, you can not use the UPDATE/CLONE USB port next to the rear HDMI input.
Loading Apps You can down load apps from the internet or from the HCI app store. (HCI app store available soon.)
NOTE: HCI and/or its dealers are not responsible for apps that HCI has not approved.
1. To install apps from the internet.
A. Using a PC or other device, download the apk from the internet site to a USB flash
drive.
B. Insert the USB flash drive into the side or rear USB port.
C. Select or click Apps then FileBrowser
D. Select or click on the USB ICON.
E. Select or click the apk file to install. If you get an Install block warning, select or
click on the Settings button then:
1. Press the “ENTER” button or click on the first line to allow installation of
unknown applications.
2. Select or click the “OK” button in the warning box that appears.
3. The box on the right side of the Unknown sources line should be checked.
F. Select or click the “Install” button at the bottom of the screen.
G. When the installation is finished select or click the “Open” or “Done” button at the
bottom of the screen
H. Right click or press the “BACK” button to exit.
2. HCI app store.
The HCI app store is not available at the time of this printing. Coming soon.
Once the app is loaded it will be located in the App folder. You can move it to the home page or
Games folder. To move an app:
