REPLACING THE COIL IN A STRING TRIMMING HEAD (fig. 25–27)
Note: I
We recommend replacing the spool or string with the string head removed.
For taking off the the head string, it is necessary to again block the shaft by allen key
and unscrew the head on the right side.
1. Press the latches sightly from both sides to remove the strimmer cap (fig. 25A).
2. Remove the spool and, if necessary, remove the old cord.
3. For assembly of new coil thread both ends of string through the eyelets in coil housing.
Handle the string in eyelets in coil housing. Push the coil into the coil housing. Pull both ends
of string from coil housing. Check correct fitting of the spring (fig. 26A).
4. Fit the coil cover again.
5. Screw the string trimmer head counterclockwise on the thread of the drive shaft.
6. Adjust string length to ca 15 cm so that the engine within start and warming is less loaded.
STRING REPLACEMENT IN A STRING TRIMMING HEAD (fig. 27)
1. Press the latches sightly from both sides to remove the strimmer cap.
2. Remove the spool and, if necessary, remove the old cord.
3. Measure the necessary amount of cord and fold it in half. The length of the cord must be
appropriate to the capacity of the spool. For the first change, measure about 5 metres and
shorten/lengthen it in the next change as needed.
Note: I
It is better to use fewer cords than to overfill the spool. This may cause the cord to slip
off the spool and become tangled in the cutting head.
4. Take the spool in your hand so that its bottom (working) side is right from your view. Insert
the eye created by folding the cord into the notch of the spool split.
5. While tightening, wind the cord by rotating the spool away from you (by the arrow on
the spool)
6. After winding, insert both ends of the cord either straight into the notches in the cutting
head, or crimp the ends into the notches in the spool (e.g. for storage) so that it doesn‘t
untangle.
7. Insert the spool into the cutting head. Ensure that the spring and washers are correctly
positioned.
8. Put the cap back on and click.
9. Check that the cap is properly fastened and trim the cord to about 15 cm.
