  If the drive spindle of your Hilti Drill isn't rotating, it could be due to several reasons. First, the tool's electronics may have exceeded their permissible operating temperature, so allow the tool to cool down. Second, the battery might be discharged, so change the battery and charge the empty one. Finally, the function selector switch may not be correctly engaged or is set to “Chiseling” or “Chisel positioning”, so set the function selector switch to “Drilling without hammering” or “Hammer drilling”.

Bring the tip of the drill bit into contact with the working surface, switch the rotary hammer on and allow it to run. If necessary, repeat the procedure until the hammering mechanism begins to operate. Alternatively, the function switch might be set to “Drilling without hammering”. In this case, set the function switch to “Hammer drilling”.
