  If your Hilti Rotary Hammer isn't hammering, there could be a few reasons: * The rotary hammer might be too cold. Try bringing the tip of the drill bit into contact with the working surface, switch the rotary hammer on and allow it to run. If necessary, repeat the procedure until the hammering mechanism begins to operate. * The function selector switch may be set to “Drilling without hammering”. Ensure it is set to “Hammer drilling”. * The rotary hammer might have been set to reverse rotation. Switch it to the “Forward” position.

  If your Hilti Rotary Hammer gets very hot, immediately switch it off and remove the battery. Keep the battery under observation and allow it to cool down. This could be due to an electrical fault or because the rotary hammer has been overloaded (application limit exceeded). In the latter case, select a tool that is suitable for its intended use.
