Parts Names and Functions

MEASURE button Starts the earth resistance measurement,
auxiliary earth resistance check, or battery
check.

Range selector Switches the function among the battery
check, earth voltage measurement, auxiliary
earth resistance check, and earth resistance
measurement.

Poles selector Switches the measurement method between
2-pole method (simplied measurement) and
3-pole method (precise measurement).

Hz selector Switches the measurement frequency
between 575 Hz and 600 Hz to reduce
effects of harmonic earth voltage.

Resistance dial Allows the operator to read the measured
resistance value.

Galvanometer Displays the value of current that ows
through the galvanometer during earth
resistance measurement.

Battery effective
range
Allows the operator to check if the battery
voltage is sufcient.

Auxiliary earth
resistance effective
range
Allows the operator to check if the auxiliary
earth voltage is favorable.

Earth voltage scale Allows the operator to read the earth voltage
value.

Dial knob Allows the operator to adjust the current
value owing through the galvanometer
during earth resistance measurement.

ADJUST Allows the operator to perform the zero
adjustment for the galvanometer
