What to do if Hioki IR4052 fails zero adjustment (low resistance)?
    • J
      Jessica BerrySep 23, 2025
Verify that there is no broken connection in the test leads. Zero adjustment can be performed for readings of up to 3 ?. Ensure that the wiring resistance is 3 ? or less. This error may also occur if a fuse other than the specified type is used, so use only the specified type of fuse.

What to do if the measured value is the maximum on Hioki IR4052 Test Equipment?
    • J
      jennifer64Aug 25, 2025
If the measured value is shown as the maximum display value when using Hioki Test Equipment, check the continuity of the test lead with a tester. Also, verify that the test leads are securely connected to both the instrument and the measurement points.

How to troubleshoot Hioki Test Equipment when unable to perform measurement?
    • M
      Manuel LongAug 26, 2025
If you are unable to perform a measurement with your Hioki Test Equipment, try turning off the MEASURE key and then pressing it again. Also, make sure to separate the measurement target from all power sources before taking measurements.

Why do the batteries run out so fast in my Hioki Test Equipment?
    • C
      Corey MitchellAug 27, 2025
If the batteries in your Hioki Test Equipment run out immediately, replace the nickel-metal-hydride or manganese batteries with alkaline batteries.

What to do if I can't perform measurements in the 500 V, 1000 V, or PV? range on my Hioki Test Equipment?
    • A
      Adriana BarnesSep 13, 2025
The 500 V, 1000 V, and PV? ranges use double-action to prevent the inadvertent application of the measurement signal. Press after setting the rotary selector to the 500 V or 1000 V range. Pressing while holding the RELEASE key will not disable the lock function. In PV? range, select a voltage to be applied with 500 V ?? 1000 V key and then press RELEASE key.

Why does my Hioki Test Equipment show the maximum display value?
    • S
      sandersmichelleSep 12, 2025
This issue can occur if there is a broken connection in a test lead or if the test leads are not securely connected. Check the continuity of the test lead with a tester. Also, check the connection between the test leads and the instrument, and check the connection of the tips of the test leads.

    Vickie SimpsonSep 12, 2025
Why is there excessive variation in the measured value on my Hioki IR4052?
    • J
      James DavisSep 12, 2025
The variation may be caused by induced noise from a charging circuit located near the measurement target or the measurement target has a large capacitance component (capacitor). * Disconnect the circuit breaker for any nearby charging circuits. If this is not possible, use the lowest measured value as the measurement result. * If it is possible to remove the capacitor, do so. If not, use the lowest measured value as the measurement result.

How to fix a broken protective fuse in Hioki Test Equipment?
    • D
      Dana StokesSep 4, 2025
If there is a broken connection in the protective fuse of your Hioki Test Equipment, replace the indicated fuse.

Why is the insulation resistance accuracy outside specifications on Hioki IR4052?
    • D
      Dana CurtisSep 2, 2025
If, when calibrating your Hioki Test Equipment, the accuracy of the insulation resistance range falls outside the device specifications, use the test leads that came with the instrument or its optional test leads to perform the calibration procedure. The issue might be that the test lead cable insulation resistance is too low.
