14. Handling Wireless Remote Control
Switch (PC-LH3B)
l
The distance for transmitting is approximately
5 meters at a maximum. (The capable distance
for transmitting will get shorter in case that the
transmitting angle is not vertical to the receiver
or an electronic type light is used in the room,
etc.) The distance between the indoor unit and
electric light should be more than 1m.
l
When it is installed onto wall or pillar, check
before the installation whether the receiver of
indoor unit can receive the command correctly.
l
Handle the wireless remote control switch with
care. If it falls or water splashes on it, it may
cause a failure.
15. Automatic Control
The system is equipped with the following
functions.
l
Three Minute Guard (Enforced Stoppage)
The compressor remains off for at least 3
minutes once it has stopped. If the system is
started within approximately 3 minutes after it
has stopped, the RUN indicator is activated.
However, the cooling operation or the heating
operation remains off and does not start until
after 3 minutes has elapsed.
l
Three Minute Guard (Enforced Operation)
If all indoor units of the system are Thermo-OFF
within approximately 3 minutes after compressor
has started, compressor is operated for 3
minutes continuously.
However, if all indoor units of the system are
stopped by remote control switch, compressor is
stopped.
l
Oil Return Operation
If the indoor unit is stopped for more than 2
hours continuously, this function is operated for
a few minutes.
It has this function to prevent to accumulate in
the heat exchanger of stoppage indoor unit at
cooling operation.
< At Cooling and Dry Operations >

Frost Prevention During Cooling and
Dry Operations
When the indoor unit is operated at low
discharge air temperature, the operation
mode may be changed to fan operation (the
compressor is stopped) for a while to avoid frost
formation on the indoor heat exchanger.

Self-Cleaning Expansion Valve
It is for cleaning the expansion valve
automatically when the operation is stopped.
The sound of the refrigerant owing may be
heard from the indoor unit during the self-
cleaning. However, it is not abnormal.
l
Dew Prevention during Cooling Operation
In order to prevent dew condensation, the unit
operates with its louver at a different angle from
the original setting for a certain period of time.
Even in this case, LCD of remote control switch
displays the set louver angle.
< At Heating Operation >
l
Hot Start During Heating Operation
To prevent cold air discharge in the room, the
fan speed is changed gradually from slow to
low. At this time, “HOT-ST” is displayed on LCD
when the indoor unit is connected to the wired
remote control switch, and the louver is xed
horizontally. After this control is completed, the
setting returns to the set fan speed and the xed
louver is released.
