2.5 While driving
Your motor home is not an automobile!
In many situations, it reacts very dierently to a “normal“ au-
tomobile. Therefore, you should be prepared for the following
dierences:
Passenger safety
The following applies while driving:
• Only those seats equipped with safety belts may be used
by passengers.
• People may not be lying in the beds while driving.
• Passengers must remain in their seats with their seat belt on!
• Only install children's car seats on seats that have been
tted by the manufacturer with three-point belts.
• Turn the swivel seats in the direction of trac and lock
them into place. The seats may not be turned while driving.
• Lock the sliding seat* into its original position.
• Do not open the door latch!
• No extra passengers may remain in the vehicle!
Driving
Take a trial drive before leaving on your rst large journey in
order to familiarize yourself with the motor home. Remember
to practise reversing. The base vehicle is a commercial vehicle;
adjust your driving style accordingly.
The following applies for driving:
• Do not underestimate the length of the engine home. Due
to the relatively long rear overhang larger vehicles can
veer to one side and, in unfavourable conditions, the rear
can hit the ground.
• Be careful when driving into inner courtyards and through
entrance gates.
• The motor home may start to swing from side to side in
cross-winds, on wet or icy roads.
• Adjust your speed to road and trac conditions.
