The following applies for your preparations:
• Checkthevehiclefordamagetothepaintworkorfromrust
and, if necessary, repair it.
•Ensurethatwatercannotrunintotheventilationandde-
aerating and heating systems.
•Useawax-basedprotectiveagenttoprotectthemetal
parts of the undercarriage against rust.
•Preservevarnishedexternalsurfaceswithsuitableagents.
•Fillthepetroltankwithwinterdiesel;checktheantifreezer
in the windshield cleaning unit and the coolant.
12.7 Winter Operation
Preparations
Your van has been designed to allow you to use it to a cer-
tainextentinwinter.Ifyoureallywishtocampinwinter,we
recommend that you optimize your van to meet your personal
requirements. Your dealer will be pleased to advise you.
If, despite all of these measures, condensation forms,
simply wipe it away.
Before entering the vehicle, remove the snow from your
clothes and shoes to prevent an increase in humidity.
The following applies for ventilation
During operation in winter, condensation is caused when
usingthecamperinlowtemperatures.Sucientventilationis
extremelyimportanttoensurethatthequalityoftheairinside
the camper is good and to avoid damages to the vehicle
caused by condensation.
• Donotshutventsforforcedventilation.
• Settheheatingtomaximumpowerwhenheatingupthe
van. Open stowage spaces, cupboards, drawers, furniture
aps,curtains,shadesandplissés.Thisenablesyouto
achieve optimum ventilation and de-aerating.
• Onlyheatthevanwhentherecirculationairsystemisswit-
ched on.
• Everymorning,airallofthecushions,mattressesand
stowage spaces and dry any damp spots.
• Airthoroughlywithfullyopeneddoorsandwindowssever-
al times a day.
• Iftheoutsidetemperatureisunder8°C,wintercovers*
should be mounted over the ventilation grilles of the refri-
gerator.
