ensurealargercurveradius.Pleasenotethat,depending
onthemodel,therearendofthevanmayswingout.
Braking
Avanhasadierentbrakeresponsethanthatofacar.Forthis
reason,inexperienced drivers in particular should carry out
several test brake manoeuvres in a suitable location before
driving on the road. The braking distance of the van is longer
thanthatofacar.Furthermore,itisstronglyinuencedbyhow
heavily the van has been loaded.

• Whendrivingdownhill,selectagearthatisnothigherthan
whendrivinguphill.

• Longdescentswithaslightgradientcanbecomedangerous.
Adjustyourspeed fromthe very beginningtoallow you to
speedupifnecessarywithoutendangeringotherautomobiles.
• Asageneralrule,neverdrivefasterdownhillthanuphill.
• Thevanmaybecaughtupinaslipstreamwhenovertakingor
beingovertakenbylorrieswithtrailersorbuses.Thiseect
iscounteractedbylightlycounter-steering.
• Use foresightwhile driving; take regularbreaks on longer
drives.
