30 Commissioning
General information
•
Before commissioning the device, be sure to read the safety information as of
page 17 onwards.
•
Before commissioning the respiratory therapy system (respiratory therapy device,
tube, humidifier, etc.), check all connections for leaks, as well as the stability of
the connected accessories.
• Never operate the device without the air filters.
• Only use original HOFFRICHTER filters.
• If the device was previously in an environment where the air temperature was very
different from the operating location, you must wait at least 1 hour before starting
it to allow the temperature to adjust.
Commissioning
Risk of injury from tube system and cable!
The tube system or other cables can lead to patient strangu-
lation if laid incorrectly.
Ö
Lay the tube system and cable so that they cannot become
wrapped around the patient’s neck or limbs and be pulled
tight.
Risk of suffocation
Masks and accessories should be used with the device to
ensure delivery of the therapeutic pressure and to reduce CO
2
rebreathing to a minimum.
Ö
Only use masks with an exhalation valve and suitable acces-
sories.
1. Place the device on a flat and stable surface.
Pleae note: Make sure that the device is positioned safely and that the air sup-
ply is not obstructed.
Make sure that the display is positioned in the user‘s field of vision during the-
rapy. The device is designed for operation within arm‘s reach.
2. Connect the power supply to the device.
