42 Therapy Modes
BILEVEL S, T and ST
(only point 2 BILEVEL ST20/25)
General
In BILEVEL S, T and ST you can independently set the pressure during inspration (IPAP)
and expiration (EPAP). Selecting an an optimal slope can facilitate patients therapy
compliance. A precise adjustment may further convey the feeling of natural respira-
tion without any delay.
BILEVEL S
In BILEVEL S the transition from expiration pressure (EPAP) to inspiration pressure
(IPAP) is triggered once the patient starts to breath. When the inspiration flow ends,
the pressure drops to the EPAP. In addition, a backup frequency (Backup freq) can be
activated. In the event of an apnea patients ventilation will be continuously restored
at fixed parameters:
• IPAP, EPAP
• I-Slope, E-Slope
• Backup frequency
The parameters will be set by the physician.
Please note: During the expiration phase a negative pressure (vacuum) will not be
created.
