8.2  Preparingforthemaintenance

Havethemaintenance
andservicingparts
ready
PleaserefertoAdditionalinformationregardingspareparts(see
page81)tofindoutwhichsparepartscorrespondyourspecific
gaspressureregulatorandhavethecorrespondingmaintenance
partsandservicingpartsreadytogobeforemaintenance.
  Thesparepartsthatarealwaysrequiredfortheactuator
assembly’smaintenancearelistedinthesparepartskitsfor
theactuatorassembly.
  Thesparepartsthatarealwaysrequiredforthepilot’s
maintenancearelistedinthesparepartskitsforthepilot.
  Sparepartdrawingsandbillsofmaterialsarelistedinthe
appendix(seepage81).
Inadditiontothesemaintenanceparts,therearealsoservicing
partsthatneedtobecheckedduringmaintenanceinorderto
makesurethattheyareinworkingcondition.Ifpartsaredam‐
agedorarenotworkingproperlyoratallduetoheavysoiling
thatcannotberemoved,contactthemanufacturerinorderto
clarifythesituationbeforeputtingthedevicebackintoopera‐
tion.Afterclarifyingthesituation,youcanordertherelevant
servicingpartsfromthemanufacturer.

Havetherequired
lubricantsandthread‐
lockersready
Forspecificationsconcerningthelubricantsthatmustbeused,
pleaserefertoLubricantsandthreadlockers(seepage88).
Themaintenanceinstructionsbelowareprovidedasexamplesforthevariousgaspressure
regulatormodelsandversions.Usethebillsofmaterialstomakesurethatyoureplaceallthe
maintenancepartsrelevanttoyourspecificdevicemodelduringmaintenance.
8.3  Startingmaintenance
Riskofseriousinjuryposedbypressurizedcomponentsmovinginanuncontrolledmanner
whenhandledimproperly. 
Ifnothandledproperlyorintheeventofadefect,gascanescapefrompressurizedcompo‐
nentsunderhighpressureandcauseseriousinjuriesandevendeath.Beforeyoustartwork‐
ingonthesecomponents:
  Closeallconnectionsleadingtothegas‐carryingline.
  Establishadepressurizedstatus.Residualamountsofenergymustbedepressurizedas
well.
