7. SERVICE INSTRUCTIONS
CONTROL BOX  CB16
Summary:
This service instruction outlines the procedure to replace the CB16 control box.
Tools Required:
5mm hex key
7mm spanner
8mm spanner
small flat blade screwdriver
Parts Required:
1x CB16 control box
1x std cable tie.
Location:
The control box is attached to the cord holder plate at the head end (HE) of the deck.
WARNING: Ensure all cables are secured away from moving parts.
WARNING: Ensure a portable appliance test is conducted after the
CB16 Control Box is replaced.
Procedure:
1. Raise the deck to the maximum height position and apply castor
brakes.
2. Unplug the stretcher from the mains supply.
3. Cut the cable tie securing cables to the centre of the cover plate.
4. With a 7mm spanner, disconnect the earth cables from the earth
stud on the control box. Keep washer for reassembly.
5. Remove the power cord plug from the control box by pushing in the
retaining clips with a small flat blade screwdriver and pulling power
cord. The retaining clips are two red pins on either side of the plug
port.
6. Remove the control box cable clip and unplug all the cables, keeping
the plugs in order (mark if necessary).
7. Using an 8mm spanner, remove the four M5 nyloc nuts securing the
control box to the mounting plate.
8. Carefully remove the control box.
9. Reverse the procedure to install the new control box (see warning
above).
NOTE: If needed, refer to the electric circuit section for more detail
on specific ports and their respective plugs.
10. Conduct a PAT test on the stretcher.
11. Plug the power cord into the mains supply and initialise the control
box (See 6.5 on page 12). Verify all stretcher functions are working
correctly before returning to service.
