When MINIMUM shows in the left side character field, the value in the right side
character field is the minimum power-level sampled.
DIFF
When DIFF shows in the left side character field, the value in the right
side character field is the difference between the minimum and maximum
power-levels sampled.
AVERAGE
When AVERAGE shows in the left side character field, the value in the right side
character field is the mean average of the samples.
Note
If the samples are taken in dB or dBm, Avg is the mean average
of these logarithmic values. If the samples are taken in Watts,
Avg is the mean average of the linear values.
# 1
When # 1 shows in the left side character field, the value in the right side
character field is the first of the samples taken. To examine the rest of the
samples, use the Modify keys. In this case the Modify keys operate on the value
in the left side character field.
The Alignment Application
The Alignment application simplifies the alignment of two optical components to
get the best transfer of power from one to the other.
Preparation
You need a sensor module to perform the Alignment application. The only
hardware setup you need is to have the device under test connected to the
sensor.
