Transferring Files
Transferring Files
Files can be transferred to and from the analyzer via the HP-IB or LAN
ports. Using the LAN port may be the most convenient if you are
transferring files using a UNIX workstation or a PC equipped with
Windows95 (or later) and ftp networking software.
Two example programs (“GETFILE” and “PUTFILE”) demonstrate how
to transfer files from the analyzer's mass memory to and from mass
memory of an external controller via HP-IB. Instrument states and
program files may be transferred to or from the analyzer's internal
non-volatile memory, MEM, internal-volatile memory, RAM, and the
internal 3.5 inch floppy disk, INT. This can be a convenient method to
archive data and programs to a central, large mass-storage device.
These example programs are found on the Example Programs Disk that
was shipped with your analyzer, and are described and listed in the
Example Programs Guide. To run these programs, connect an external
controller to the analyzer with an HP-IB cable.
For information about transferring files over a LAN, see The LAN
Interface User’s Guide Supplement.
