When you replace the system board, be sure to remove the following components (as applicable) from the
defective system board and install them on the replacement system board. The heat sink can be removed with
the defective system board.
Memory modules (see Memory modules on page 36).
WLAN module (see WLAN module on page 37).
Fans (see Fan on page 42).
Heat sink (see Heat sink on page 43).
IMPORTANT: After replacing the system board or the display panel assembly, it is necessary to run the
service tool to have the new ambient light sensor (ALS) data written to the system BIOS. Please search for
the related advisory for more information.
Remove the system board:
1. Disconnect the following cables from the system board:
Camera module cable (ZIF) (1)
Antenna cables (2)
Display panel cable (ZIF) (3)
Speaker cable (ZIF) (4)
Backlight cable (ZIF) (5)
Keyboard cable (ZIF) (6)
Touchpad cable (ZIF) (7)
