To remove the touchpad, use this procedure and illustration.

Before removing the touchpad and touchpad cable, follow these steps:
1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (see Preparation for disassembly on page 33).
2. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 33).
3. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 34).
Remove the touchpad:
1. Disconnect the cable from the ZIF connector on the touchpad (1).
2. Remove the four Phillips M1.6 × 2.5 screws (2) that secure the touchpad bracket to the computer.
3. Remove the touchpad bracket from the computer (3).
4. Remove the three Phillips M1.6 × 2.5 screws (4) that secure the touchpad to the computer.
