Before removing the SSD, follow these steps:
1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (see Preparation for disassembly on page 62).
2. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 62).
3. Disconnect the battery cable from the system board (see Battery on page 74).
NOTE: The type of SSD cover differs for models with a plastic bottom cover or a metal bottom cover,
Remove the M.2 2280 SSD from models with a plastic bottom cover:
1. Remove the Phillips M2.0 × 2.5 screw (1) from the drive assembly.
2. Remove the Phillips M2.0 × 4.0 screw (2) from the drive assembly.
3. Lift the end of the drive assembly (3) up, and then pull the assembly (4) away from the socket to
remove it.
