Before removing the touchpad, follow these steps:
1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (see Preparation for disassembly on page 41).
2. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 41).
3. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 51).
Remove the touchpad:
1. Disconnect the system board cable from the ZIF connector on the touchpad (1).
2. (Select models only) Disconnect the cable from the ZIF connector on the NFC module (2).
3. Remove the four Phillips M2.0× 2.0 screws (3) that secure the touchpad to the computer.
4. Remove the two Phillips M1.6 × 2.0 screws (4) that secure the touchpad to the computer.
5. Remove the touchpad from the computer (5).
Reverse this procedure to install the touchpad.
NFC module
To remove the NFC module, use this procedure and illustration.
