Before removing the bottom cover, prepare the computer for disassembly (see Preparation for disassembly on
page 36).
Remove the bottom cover:
1. Close the computer and rest it upside down on a at work surface.
2. Remove the eight Phillips M2.0 × 4.0 screws (1) that secure the bottom cover to the computer.
3. Insert a thin, plastic tool in the seam along the bottom between the bottom cover and computer (1), and
then pull the tool along the edges of the bottom cover to release it.
4. Remove the bottom cover (2).
To replace the bottom cover, reverse the removal procedures.
Battery
To remove the battery, use this procedure and illustration.
