Front speakers
NOTE: The front speakers are included in the Speaker Kit, spare part number 665610-001.
Before removing the front speakers, follow these steps:
1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet
and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4. Remove the battery (see
Battery on page 47), and then remove the following components:

Optical drive (see
Optical drive on page 48)
●
Hard drive (see
Hard drive on page 51)
●
Keyboard (see
Keyboard on page 59)
●
Top cover (see
Top cover on page 62)
●
USB board (see
USB board on page 76)
Remove the front speakers and cables:
1.
Disconnect the front speaker cable (1) from the system board.
2.
Release the front speaker cable from the clips (2) and routing channel built into the
base enclosure.
3.
Remove the two Phillips PM2.5×5.0 screws (3) that secure the front right speaker to the
base enclosure.
4. Rotate the front left speaker (1) clockwise to release it from under the system board.
