USB board
NOTE: The USB board does not include the USB board cable. The USB board cable is included in
the Cable Kit, spare part number 665593-001.

Before removing the USB board, follow these steps:
1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet
and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4. Remove the battery (see
Battery on page 47), and then remove the following components:

Optical drive (see
Optical drive on page 48)
●
Hard drive (see
Hard drive on page 51)
●
Keyboard (see
Keyboard on page 59)
●
Top cover (see
Top cover on page 62)
Remove the USB board:
1. Detach the USB board cable (1) from the base enclosure. (The USB board cable is attached to the
base enclosure with double-sided tape.)
2. Remove the two Phillips PM2.5×5.0 screws (2) that secure the USB board to the base enclosure.
