Display assembly, touch models
Before disassembling the display assembly, follow these steps:
1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (Preparation for disassembly on page 34).
2. Place the computer in Battery Safe mode (Battery Safe mode on page 34).
3. Remove the bottom cover (Bottom cover on page 36).
4. Remove the battery (Battery on page 35).
Disassemble the display assembly:
1. Remove the display assembly from the computer:
a. Disconnect the display cable from the system board ZIF connector (1).
b. Disconnect the antennas from the WLAN module (2) (select models only).
c. Disconnect the antennas from the WWAN module (3) (select models only).
d. Remove the four Torx T8 2.5 × 4.0 screws (4) that secure the display assembly to the computer.
e. Rotate the display to open the hinges (5), and then separate the display from the computer (6).
2. Insert a nonconductive, nonmarking plastic tool between the display panel and the display back cover
(enclosure), and then pull the tool around the sides of the panel to separate the display panel from the
enclosure (1).
