3.2 Power Supply and Distribution System
3.2.1 Single-Phase 220 V Power System
3.2.1.1 Overview
A UPS provides uninterruptible power supply for the smart module. When the external power
supply fails, the UPS uses battery strings to supply power to IT loads. There are three types of
UPSs, that is, 3 kVA UPS, 6 kVA UPS, and 10 kVA UPS. A 24 U cabinet can house the 3 kVA
UPS and 6 kVA UPS, and a 42 U cabinet can house the 3 kVA UPS, 6 kVA UPS, and 10 kVA
UPS.
In a 24 U cabinet, the rPDU can only be installed horizontally. In a 42 U cabinet, the rPDU
can be installed horizontally if the 3 kVA UPS is configured or vertically if the 6 kVA UPS or
10 kVA UPS is configured.
