Error Symptoms Action/FRU
NOTE:
To diagnose a problem, first find the error symptom in the left
column. If directed to a check procedure, replace the FRU indicated in the
check procedure. If no check procedure is indicated, the first Action/FRU
listed in right column is the most likely cause.
CD/DVD-ROM Drive
NOTE:
Ensure CD/DVD-ROM drive is configured correctly in BIOS Setup,
cable/jumper are set correctly and its laser beam is clean before diagnosing
any CD/DVD-ROM drive problems.
CD/DVD-ROM drive LED
flashes for more than 30
seconds before LED
shutting off.
Software asks to reinstall
disc.
Software displays a reading
CD/DVD error.
CD/DVD may have dirt or foreign material on
it. Check with a known good disc.
CD/DVD is not inserted properly.
