12 APPENDIX 4: 3G MODEM OPTION
An optional 3G communication module is available for the I-SAFE. It is easy to install it in the service
box. Please note it is not possible to use simultaneously a GPRS module and a Bluetooth module.
Before installing the optional GPRS module, please ensure the battery is switched off.

*: on some units, the communication board is not installed in the unit and comes separately with the
modem. In this case, place the communication board on the 4 struts (Figure 14, items 2) in the service
box and press gently to fix it. Make sure that the rake connector is properly inserted in the
corresponding slot (Figure 14, items 3).
12.2 ASSEMBLY AND INSTALLATION
1. Open the door at the back of the I-SAFE to access the boards to connect the modem to, see
Figure 13
