Thefactory‐installed‘standardlength’stabilizerflybarhelpsthecoaxial,counter‐rotating
bladedesigndeliverexcellentinherentstabilityandself‐levelingcapability.Thisworksvery
wellwhenflyingindoors(oroutdoorsincalmconditions),however,canalsomakeitmore
difficulttoquicklychangedirectioninand‘penetrate’thewindwhen
flyingoutdoors.Inmany
casesthestandardlengthflybarcanevenpreventthehelicopterfromchangingdirection
and/orstabilizingquicklyenoughcausingittopitchorbanktoananglethatcannotbe
recoveredfrombeforeresultinginacrash.
TheseconsiderationsinmindyouMUSTinstalltheoptionalshortlengthstabilizerflybar
(IFLH1319X)whenplanningtoflyoutdoorsinwindsupto5‐10mph.Theshortlengthflybar
willstilloffersomedegreeofinherentstabilityandself‐levelingcapability,however,italso
makesitpossibletochangedirectionfaster
inandtobetterpenetratewind.
Toinstallthefactory‐assembledshortlengthstabilizerflybarset/assemblystartbyfirst
removingthetwosmallscrewsthatholdthecap/covertothetopoftheupperrotor
head/hub.Slidethecap/coveroutofthehead/hubandsetittotheside.Nowyoucan
removethestandardlengthstabilizer
flybaranddisconnecttheballlink/linkagefromthe
mainrotorbladegrip.
Next,slidetheshortlengthstabilizerflybarintothehead/hub(NOTE:itcanbeinstalledin
eitherdirectionpossible),thenslidethecap/coverbackintoplaceandsecureitwiththetwo
smallscrews.Connecttheballlink/linkagetothecontrolballonthemainrotorbladegripand
installationis
complete.However,beforeproceedingwiththefirstflightafterinstallingthe
shortlengthflybaryoumustbesuretochecktheuppermainrotorbladetrackingandmake
anynecessaryadjustments.Pleaseseethe‘UpperMainRotorBladeTracking’sectionofthis
manualformoreinformation.
