Electrical System – Boat/Engine Interface Wiring cont’d
Pin 5 (Purple) IGN/RUN - This wire provides battery positive from the ignition switch in
the start or run position to the engine. This power is sent to the JTEC ECU to turn the
engine electronics on or off. The engine is on when this circuit is hot and the engine is off
when this circuit is open.
Pin 6 (Red / Purple) BATT POSITIVE - This 8 gauge wire provides all un-switched +12
volt power to the instrument cluster. This wire also supplies +12V to the ignition switch
usually connected to the “POS” or “
+” terminal. Power for a fused accessory panel may
be taken from this connection. The ground for this panel must return via the black wire
(common ground) pin 1. This load must not exceed 50 amps.
Pin 7 (Yellow / Red) START - This wire is connected to the switched side of the starter
button usually indicated by the letter “S”. When the key is turned to the start position,
+12V is sent via this circuit to the starter motor relay, activating the starter motor.
Pin 8 (Light Blue) OIL PRESSURE - This wire provides the oil pressure signal to the
gauge. The MV10 comes fitted with a 0 to 100psi oil pressure sender already installed
and wired. The engine installer will need to connect this wire to the signal input terminal of
a 0 to 100psi oil pressure gauge.
Pin 9 (Brown / White) OIL TEMP - This wire provides the oil temperature signal to the
gauge. The MV10 is fitted with an industry standard 100-320º F oil temperature sender
and the appropriate wiring from the factory. The engine installer will need to wire a 100 to
320º F gauge in the same manner as he would with any other power unit.
NOTE
Refer to the gauge manufacturer’s instructions for further specifications and detail.
