Selectable Alert Option
Testing the Alert
The receiver can be programmed to only sound the voice or siren alert for select weather
emergency messages. Those messages unimportant to you can be programmed to only display a
message, minimizing annoyance.
To program the emergency messages you want to silence, follow these steps:
a. Press
MENU to open menu options when unit is in standby mode.
b. Rotate the SEARCH wheel until “6. DEFEAT SIREN” displays and press ENTER to conrm.
c. Using the
SEARCH wheel, scroll through the dierent alerts you want to silence.
d. Press
ENTER to select alert, rotate the SEARCH wheel to select "ENABLE" or "DISABLE".
e. Press ENTER to conrm your selection and exit the programming option.
1. To test the alert function to ensure it is working, press SETUP when unit is in standby mode.
2. Rotate the
SEARCH wheel until “4. SIREN TEST” is displayed on the screen.
3. Press ENTER to sound the alert siren.
4. Rotate the
SEARCH wheel to sound the dierent siren: WARNING > WATCH > ADVISORY >
ALARM
5. Press
ENTER again to silence the alarm.
Reviewing Alerts
The iMM183 weather receiver can store 10 dierent alerts/events with overlapping eective time in
its memory. If the receiver receives a new alert while a previous alert is still in eect, it automatically
displays the new alert message. Rotate the SEARCH wheel to review the past alerts and press ENTER
to review the ending time of each alert. If an alert is expired, “EXPIRED” will display on screen after
pressing ENTER.
